Requests from Individuals for Documents Confirming Legal Facts

Requests for documents confirming legal facts are accepted when the applicant visits the state archive in person, or they may be sent by post, courier, or an authorized representative.

Private information is provided only after the applicant's identity has been verified. When requesting personal information, the applicant must indicate their personal identification number in the request. If such a request is sent by post or through a courier, a certified copy of the applicant's identity document must be attached. If the request is made by the applicant’s representative, additional documents proving identity and representation must be provided.

The document search services provided by state archives are subject to a fee. Service rates are established in a price list approved by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania. Payments can be made via bank transfer or check; in some cases, cash payments are accepted at the archive. The archive’s contact details and bank account information can be found here. A signed request and proof of payment must be submitted to the archive by post or delivered in person.
